IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship
Škoda Auto has been the Main Official Sponsor of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship since 1993. After 25 years in 2017 this partnership earned a place in the Guinness World Records as the longest main sponsorship in the history of world sports championships. Škoda Auto supports World Men Top Division, Division 1A, B and Women Top Division tournaments.
2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship
From May 15 to 31 in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland
As a proud partner of the IIHF Ice Hockey tournaments, Škoda Auto is supporting the tournament with 53 all-electric Elroq and Enyaq family vehicles and will also unveil the Epiq, its latest electric model, with the premiere streamed live on Škoda’s YouTube channel.
Škoda Epiq World Premiere

On Tuesday, May 19, will happen the world premiere of the new all-electric crossover SUV, the Epiq, in Zurich. Ahead of the reveal, camouflaged vehicles will be on display in both arenas. During the games on May 19 at 16:20, fans in the arenas in Zurich and Fribourg will see the Epiq without camouflage for the first time. Škoda fans will also be able to watch the premiere live on the car manufacturer’s YouTube channel.
Škoda Fan Zones
Škoda Auto also continues the tradition of having its fan activities in the official fan zones in Zurich and Fribourg. Visitors of the fan zones will have a chance to improve their hockey skills in a virtual goal-shooting simulator, sing along in a special karaoke-equipped Elroq, take part in hockey-themed mini-games, win original Škoda prizes and last but not least check out the new Škoda Epiq live after the World Premiere. A giant goalie mask painted in Škoda colours will not be missing. Škoda models will be on display inside and around the arenas.
The MVP Trophy
The best player of the Men's World Championship is awarded a trophy designed by Škoda each year. For tournament 2025 and on, a brand-new glass trophy has been developed and crafted. This trophy is inspired by nature and incorporates the Modern Solid design language, which is also used for design of Škoda cars.
