The term “plug-in hybrid” tells us that the Octavia Combi iV’s battery can be recharged after connecting a charging cable. To do so, it draws on alternating current (AC) from the mains. The battery can be recharged at home, typically overnight, either from a regular outlet or via a powerful wallbox for faster charging – a flat battery can be recharged completely from an ordinary outlet in 5 hours, and in 3 hours 30 minutes with a 3.6 kW wallbox. Each of the two charging methods requires its own separate type of cable.

Recharging the battery on the go is easy – at work, in a car park or at a shopping centre. A fast-charging cable, the same one used for wallbox charging, will recharge the battery in 3 hours 30 minutes, the same as for AC public charging stations. Charging cables can fit easily in a dedicated storage compartment in the boot.
