What you can count on
The new Škoda Kodiaq offers plenty of power in all circumstances: on the motorway, nipping in and out of urban traffic, pulling a trailer of up to 2.5 tonnes, or driving off-road. You can take your pick of the 1.4, 1.5 and 2.0 l TSI petrol engines or the 2.0 TDI diesel engines. The power ranges from 110 to 147 kW (or as much as 180 kW in the new Kodiaq RS), and is transmitted to the front or all wheels. Two types of transmission are available: a 6-speed manual and 6- or 7-speed DSG gearbox.
Stay on top of the situation, literally
The generous ground clearance gives you the unique sense of security that only an SUV can offer when you are at the wheel. A perfect overview is provided by the freely programmable Virtual Cockpit which offers a choice of five display layouts. The Dynamic Chassis Control and Driving Mode Select allow you to match the car’s characteristics to your mood. The progressive steering, delivering improved steering control, is a special feature.
You drive, we care
The safety of you and your family is our priority. Occupants are protected by up to 9 airbags that work in tandem with the seat belts. The Isofix and Top Tether systems are used to improve the protection of children in infant carriers. If an accident is unavoidable, passengers are prepared for impact by Crew Protect Assist, which closes the windows and activates belt pretensioning. ESC, ABS and many other systems also keep an eye on the car when it is on the go.
Driving in the city
The radar located in the radiator grille monitors the front area so that Front Assist with Predictive Pedestrian Protection can alert you or stop the car in the event of an imminent collision with another vehicle or a person. On congested roads, Traffic Jam Assist can even inch the car forward automatically. The Side Assist detects vehicles approaching from behind or that are in the car’s blind spot up to 70 m away, so it is also effective at warning the driver of hazardous situations on multi-lane roads and motorways.
Parking
When you buy a new Škoda Kodiaq, all your parking worries are over. Park Assist can park in and exit from parallel spots itself, and enter perpendicular spots forwards or backwards – you just work the accelerator and the brake. To have a complete overview in tight parking spaces, use the Area View, with cameras providing a 360° view around the car. Trailer Assist takes over the driving when you have a trailer. Simply control the vehicle by tilting the adjusting knob for the exterior mirror.
Driving on the highway
When you’re on the motorway, the Travel Assist is ready to help by taking over some of the driving for you. Predictive Cruise Control drives the car at a set speed, slows down when it closes the gap with the car ahead, and accelerates again when the road is open. It also processes recognised travel signs and speed limits stored in the navigation system and adjusts the speed according to the navigation route, e.g. before a bend, roundabout or turning. Adaptive Lane Assist uses a camera to read road markings and keeps the car in the selected track within the traffic lane. Hundreds of miles on the motorway will always test the limits of your stamina. Driver Alert ensures you don’t take risks – it alerts you if you need to take a break.
Driving outside the city
Maintain optimal lighting and steering assistance when you move away from city and motorway lights. Auto Light Assist automatically turns the full beam on and off depending on the current lighting conditions and traffic situation. Smart function Traffic Sign Recognition shows the traffic signs on the car’s display so you can keep track of the situation. If drivers find themselves in medical difficulty, Emergency Assist can stop the vehicle itself and trigger the warning lights.
