TECHNOLOGY TO COUNT ON
With the OCTAVIA, you can take your pick of the 1.0,1.4, 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 l TSI petrol engines or the 1.6 and 2.0 TDI diesel engines. Another option is the naturally aspirated 1.6 MPI petrol engine. The power ranges from 81 to 140 kW (or as much as 180 kW in the OCTAVIA RS), and is transmitted to the front or all wheels. You can choose from a 5- or 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG gearbox. The OCTAVIA COMBI G-TEC offers a 1.5 G-TEC/96 kW engine – combining petrol and CNG.
CERTAINTY AT THE WHEEL
You’ll get used to the ŠKODA OCTAVIA in no time at all. On the road, you’ll quickly become accustomed to the comfortable position at the wheel, the great view, and the readable behaviour of car. A perfect overview is provided by the freely programmable Virtual Cockpit which offers a choice of five display layouts. The DCC Adaptive Chassis and Driving Mode Select allow you to go further in matching the car’s characteristics to your mood, offering Normal, Sport, Eco and Comfort (requires DCC) modes.
SAFETY FIRST
The safety of you and your family is our priority, as evidenced by our 5-star EURO NCAP test result. Occupants are protected by up to 9 airbags that work in tandem with the three-point seat belts. If an accident is unavoidable, passengers are prepared for impact by Crew Protect Assist, which closes the windows and activates belt pretensioning. ESC, ABS and many other systems also keep an eye on the car when it is on the go.
DRIVING IN THE CITY
Inching forward a bit at a time, passing pedestrians, lane switching, etc. The ŠKODA OCTAVIA’s job is to make this easier for you. The radar located in the radiator grille monitors the front area so that Front Assist with Predictive Pedestrian Protection can alert you or stop the car in the event of an imminent collision with another vehicle or a person. On multi-carriageways, Blind Spot Detect will alert you if there’s another car in your blind spot.
PARKING
When you buy a ŠKODA OCTAVIA, all your parking worries are over. Park Assist 3.0 can park in and exit from parallel spots itself, and enter perpendicular spots forwards or backwards – you just work the accelerator and the brake. Rear Traffic Alert will help you exit a line of cars as it detects whether another car is approaching and alerts you in good time. Trailer Assist takes over the driving when you have a trailer. Simply control the vehicle by tilting the adjusting knob for the exterior mirror.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY
When you’re on the motorway, systems are ready to help by taking over some of the driving for you. Adaptive Cruise Control drives the car at a set speed, slows down when it closes the gap with the car ahead, and accelerates again when the road is open. Lane Assist uses a camera to read road markings and warns if the car starts to veer out of lane. Hundreds of miles on the motorway will always test the limits of your stamina. Driver Alert ensures you don’t take risks – it alerts you if you need to take a break.
DRIVING OUTSIDE THE CITY
Maintain optimal lighting and steering assistance when you move away from city and motorway lights. Auto Light Assist automatically turns the full beam on and off depending on the current lighting conditions and traffic situation. Travel Assist detects traffic signs and shows them on the car’s display so you can keep track of the situation.
