One million trees planted

For the fifteenth year in a row, Škoda Auto has been enriching the Czech landscape with new trees. The Škoda Trees grant program was established in 2007, when Škoda Auto decided to plant one tree for each of its cars sold in the Czech Republic. Through this project, 1,093,000 trees will be planted by the end of 2021, which corresponds to more than 227 hectares of new forest or 347 football fields in more than 170 locations throughout the Czech Republic would be covered with new greenery.

We are aware of the negative effects that the ever-increasing number of cars has on the quality of the environment, and that is why we are working long-term and systematically to develop new Škoda car models that are as environmentally friendly as possible in this respect. In the Czech Republic, our company contributes to an adequate environmental policy through measures within the GreenFuture Strategy and also through the Škoda Trees grant program "One tree for each car sold".

In recent years, in addition to Škoda Auto employees and their families, trainees and apprentices from the Škoda Secondary Vocational School of Mechanical Engineering have been involved in the project. In 2017, for the first time in history, a Škoda customer also planted his tree in Mariánské Lázně, and the first Škoda Alley was planted in the village of Bradlec near Mladá Boleslav. Škoda Auto has chosen to plant trees with the great support of its employees as a symbol of the company's focus on socio-ecological values.
