Helping disadvantaged children is one of the main priorities of corporate social responsibility. Škoda Auto helps. Our goal is to enable children to start their personal development and thus have greater opportunities for future employment. We provide support for disadvantaged children and their education together with our partners through the I’LL START IT UP! and the Škoda Auto Education Fund. As part of the CSR priority of childcare, we also support the Cycling for Children and Health Clowns project on a long-term basis.

TERIBEAR

Moves Prague and Mladá Boleslav

Škoda Auto is the general partner of charity runs. The aim of the TERIBEAR event is to support disadvantaged children. The event has been taking place for several years now in Vítkov, Prague, and Mladá Boleslav. The route is 1.5 km long and each registered participant can complete any number of laps at any time. Kilometers are recorded on the electronic account using a chip. For each kilometer covered on the circuit, the partners of the event donate CZK 30 to help children and young people in need.

I'LL START IT UP!

Škoda Auto also cooperates on the "I'LL START IT UP!" project, that motivates children and teenagers from children's homes to place more emphasis on education, personal development and helps them to choose their future profession. The project is followed up by the Škoda Auto Education Fund and the Tereza Maxová Foundation for Children, that supports further educational activities, the improvement of study conditions and the provision of material study needs. So far, 118 children have been supported under this project.

Other projects for children

On a bike for children

Škoda Auto is the general partner of the "On a Bike for Children" project - the Josef Zimovčák Endowment Fund to support children with cancer, established in 2010. The project seeks to expand opportunities for solidarity, financial assistance and supporting children in their fight against serious illness. Activities are focused primarily on sports and provision of the reconditioning stays, that make it easier to overcome the traumas caused by a serious illness.

Health clown

Škoda supports the Health Clown charity, that has been helping pediatric and geriatric patients to go through the process of treatment with a smile since 2001. There are 86 professional Health Clowns in the Czech Republic, who regularly visit 62 hospitals, 8 homes for the elderly and 2 hospices. The mission is to create a relaxed environment not only in medical facilities, but to bring joy and good mood to places where there is not much of them.
