For ŠKODA, electric vehicles are more than just cars with an alternative power source. With the launch of the fully electric ŠKODA CITIGOe iV and the ŠKODA SUPERB iV plug-in hybrid, we begin a brand new chapter in our 125- year history, one which we hope will make eMobility universally accessible. By 2025, ŠKODA will offer five fully electric vehicles. Expect more fun, less emissions, more possibilities and less restrictions.
All electrified iV models will be made in our state-of-the-art plants in the Czech Republic. In 2019, the production of the SUPERB iV plug-in hybrid is being launched in the recently expanded Kvasiny plant. The all‑electric models, such as the CITIGOe iV, will be produced at the Mladá Boleslav site. We are also comprehensively preparing our staff for the demands of eMobility, with more than 11,000 employees already trained in electric car production.
SUPPORTING ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS
Our entry into the eMobility era is a key pillar of our “GreenFuture” sustainability strategy. Under that strategy, we have set specific environmental targets for our products and vehicle production. One example is the 30% reduction in our fleet’s CO2 emissions between 2015 and 2025. The transformation from combustion engines to electric cars is an essential lever for this.
