The new Octavia has grown in length, has more space in its interior for passengers in the rear and a roomy luggage compartment, whose basic volume of 560 litres can be expanded by folding the rear seats down to an incredible 1335 litres! Its excellent driving characteristics have been improved even further, thanks to a new chassis with a modern front axle and new multi-link rear axle.
The assortment of modern power units is bound to satisfy fans of both Petrol and Diesel engines. The economically minded and price conscious customer is catered for with the 1.4,16V/55kW (75bhp) engine in the Classic & Ambiente versions. The modern 1.6 FSI/85 kW (115bhp) Petrol engine, the powerful 2.0 TDI PD Diesel engine with an output of 103 kW (140bhp) and a revolutionary DSG transmission all feature in the new Octavia range. The assortment is complemented by the 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW (105bhp) turbo Diesel engine ideal for the Irish customer.
Even the standard Classic version has four airbags (front & side), ABS brakes, central locking, height-adjustable driver seat, ISOFIX fixtures for a baby seat on the rear seats, front electric windows, electrically operated and heated exterior mirrors and a (4-speaker) CD player all as standard equipment. With the Ambiente version, you can enjoy (in addition to the standard Classic equipment) an on-board trip computer, tinted windows, remote central locking, front fog lights, body coloured mirrors, front and rear electric windows and side rubbing strips. The top version, Elegance; features a dual zone climate controlled air-conditioning system, a small leather package (steering wheel & hand brake lever) and 15” Orion alloy wheels.
