Škoda 1000 MB
1965 - 1970
Škoda 1000 MB

The first prototypes of a completely new vehicle were created as early as 1956, and were introduced to the public as the Škoda 1000 MB in 1964. A completely new plant was also built for their manufacture in Ml. Boleslav, next to the original factory.

The new Škoda had a liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine with a cubic capacity of 988 cc and 45 hp, fitted in the rear of a monocoque body. The Škoda 1000 MBG sedan and the two-door Škoda 1000 MBX model (with an engine with higher compression and twin carburettors and 49 hp) were variations of the basic model.

The “embees” were also continually improved; in 1967 the Škoda 1100 MB and 1100 MBX with a 1107 cc engine were added to the range.
